How Does It Work?
Start by scheduling your first appointment and filling out a brief online form. Once your appointment is scheduled, look for an email or text that will give step by step instructions for connecting with your provider for an in-person appointment or via a video call at your scheduled date and time.
Tips For Successful Virtual Appointment:
- Log on 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This will allow for any technical issues to be sorted out before your provider arrives.
- Check that you have a stable wi-fi connection. Use headphones. This will eliminate most background noise and ensure a private conversation with your provider.
- Please do not connect solely to cellular service, as this does not provide a stable connection. While you may use your cell phone to have your visit you need to be connected to wi-fi or the internet.
- Get comfortable. If there are technical issues, we will contact you at the number provided.
What is your cancellation policy?
We value our patients’ time and strive to provide the best possible care to each individual. No-shows and late cancellations can result in a loss of time, reduced efficiency, and potential disruptions to your care and the care of others. As a result, Effervescent Psychiatry has implemented a no-show/late cancellation policy. No-shows and late cancellations without 24 hour notification to the office will incur an additional fee.
Appointment Confirmations/Cancellations:
- For all scheduled appointments, we will send a confirmation message via email, text message, or phone call.
- Patients are requested to confirm/cancel their appointments by replying to the reminder message or contacting our clinic at least 24 hours before the scheduled time.
- All appointments must be cancelled 24 hours prior to start time unless a $25 cancellation fee will incur.
- If a patient fails to show up for a scheduled appointment and does not provide any notification to the clinic, it will be considered a “no-show”. A $50 no show fee will incur.
- After two consecutive no-shows or a total of three no-show incidents within a twelve-month period, the patient’s access to future appointments will be impacted.
- If a patient cancels the appointment on the day of the scheduled visit, it will be considered a “late cancellation.” A $25 cancellation fee will incur.
No ER available.
his facility is not a walk-in clinic. All services are provided by scheduled appointment only. If you require emergent assistance or are experiencing a crisis, please dial 911 or proceed to your nearest emergency department.
Drug Screening and Controlled Substances Policy:
- Mandatory Drug Screening: Prior to prescribing any controlled substances, a mandatory drug screening is required. Random drug screenings will be conducted as long as the client is being prescribed controlled medications.
- Prescription Process: Once the drug screening results are reviewed and deemed negative for substances, a prescription will be sent to the client’s preferred pharmacy.
- Out-of-Stock Medication:If the preferred pharmacy is out of stock, it is the client’s responsibility to locate another pharmacy with the medication in stock. The client needs to notify the prescriber about the change in pharmacy so that the prescription can be resent to the new pharmacy.
- Discontinuation of Controlled Prescriptions: Prescriptions will be voided if the drug screening test does not indicate positive results for the prescribed substance. If the drug screening indicates positive results for illicit substances or other substances without a valid prescription, the prescription for the controlled substance will be discontinued.
- Cost Responsibility: The client is responsible for the cost of the drug screening at the laboratory.
This policy is designed to ensure that controlled substances are prescribed responsibly, taking into account the results of mandatory drug screenings and promoting accountability on the part of the client. It also outlines consequences for non-compliance or the presence of illicit substances in the drug screening results.
Do you provide paperwork?
- I do not provide any type of disability determination, SSDI paperwork, FMLA paperwork, or any other type of paperwork.
Policy related to Hypertension
Clients with a blood pressure (BP) of 160/100 or higher, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic, will not be seen for mental health treatment until their blood pressure is assessed, normalized, and managed.
This policy is likely in place due to the increased risk of stroke or heart attack associated with elevated blood pressure.
Additionally, Effervescent Psychiatry LLC is not liable for any complications associated with hypertension. This is a legal disclaimer indicating that the responsibility for managing and treating hypertension lies with the client, and Effervescent Psychiatry LLC may not be held responsible for any adverse events related to hypertension.
Effervescent Psychiatry, LLC will notify Emergency Medical Services (EMS) if a client’s blood pressure is found to be extremely elevated. This proactive approach ensures that appropriate medical attention can be provided promptly.
It’s essential for clients to be aware of and comply with such policies to prioritize their overall health and well-being during mental health treatment. If you have any specific questions or if there’s anything else you’d like to know, feel free to ask.
Restriction of Children in the Office Policy:
The policy of restricting children in a mental health clinic unless they are receiving services is likely implemented to ensure the safety, privacy, and appropriate use of the clinic’s resources. This policy may be in place for several reasons:
- Privacy and Confidentiality: Mental health clinics often handle sensitive information about their clients. Restricting access to the clinic to only those receiving services helps maintain the privacy and confidentiality of individuals seeking mental health support.
- Safety and Security: Limiting access to individuals who are actively receiving services can contribute to a safer environment within the clinic. It helps prevent unauthorized individuals from entering the premises, reducing the risk of potential disturbances or security issues.
- Resource Allocation:Mental health clinics have limited resources, including staff, space, and time. Prioritizing access for individuals actively seeking services ensures that resources are allocated efficiently to those in need.
- Focused Environment: A mental health clinic is designed to provide a calm and focused environment for individuals seeking support. Restricting access to those receiving services helps maintain this atmosphere and minimizes potential disruptions.
- Appointment Management: T: Restricting access to only those with scheduled appointments allows the clinic to manage its schedule effectively. This helps prevent overcrowding and ensures that clients receive the attention and time they need during their appointments.
It’s important to note that specific policies may vary among mental health clinics, and the reasons for implementing such restrictions can depend on the clinic’s size, structure, and the population it serves. Additionally, policies should align with ethical standards and legal regulations governing mental health services to ensure the well-being and rights of the individuals seeking support. If you have questions or concerns about a particular clinic’s policy, it’s advisable to contact the clinic directly for clarification.
